"Omen" is part of a series I'm working on that I started in order to try and convey difficult emotions/concepts, as a way to challenge myself.

in some of the paintings in this series, I wanted the viewer to feel uncertainty...maybe even small. In others I wanted the viewer to question the weight of perspective, how looking at the same subject or person from a different angle changed the meaning of what they were looking at.

"Omen" is meant to convey the feeling of being somewhere you shouldn't be...that maybe you aren't alone, or things aren't quite what they seem if you look close enough.



this piece took many hours of painting with watercolors and cleaning up with a white colored pencil and touches of ink.
